A fire in the Highlands section of the city Thursday afternoon sent three people to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
The fire at 7 Glidden Ave., off Middlesex Street, broke out about 3:30 p.m. and went to two alarms. Heavy smoke billowed from the multifamily dwelling as neighbors lined the narrow street. The fire was contained to the second floor and attic.
At least two people were taken by ambulance to Saints Medical Center, and a third was taken to a local hospital, but it was unclear which one.
The victims had been brought to a house across the street and taken out on stretchers. They were conscious when they were transported.
Deputy John Dowling was on the scene
